Model HDF-2

The HDF-2/S offers extraordinary performance in a macro lens that defies comparison to others. A truly universal format lens, the HDF-2/S can be used DIRECTLY with sensors as small as 1/4-in. and 1/3-in. CS-mount formats—to standard 1/2-in., 2/3-in and 1-in. C-mount formats and then with large video, traditional film and digital photographic formats—even greater than 35mm SLR (24mm x 36mm). With accessories, the HDF-2/S can even be used with 8x10-in. large format sheet film cameras!

But its advantages do not stop there. The HDF-2/S focuses directly from infinity down to 34mm without any bellows or extension tubes via its internal focusing system; all outer dimensions remain constant at all times.

By replacing the S58 Spacer in every HDF-2/S (or other tubes of equal length if Dual-Port models are employed), the optional CentriTel™ Focuser can be added to the rear. Virtually all video/photo/visual accessories can then be mounted on the CentriTel™ Focuser. Once the Model HDF-2/S' standard AVS focusing system (up front) has established a focus, the CentriTel™ Focuser can be used to translate focus above and below with no essential magnification changes. This means that the Model HDF-2/S can then be used to "montage" 3-D images. More, exact measurements are possible at high magnification from a fixed working distance.

As if that were not enough, the HDF-2/S is a high depth of field optic which maintains sharp focus far beyond typical macro systems. A complete range of accessories makes the HDF-2/S a virtually foolproof answer to macro. If you need a lens to record objects at reasonably high macro magnifications while maintaining most details in focus, you need look no further than Infinity's HDF-2/S.

HDF-2/S™ or REVERSO™?
Both of these Infinity Instruments are the finest macro systems you can choose.  But, which one?  Here are things to consider in your choice:
HDF-2/S is Infinity's premier macro modular optic.  It is directly able to cover formats up to 24mm x 36mm—the traditional 35mm SLR format.  In fact, it can be equipped to cover any format used in macroscopy—even to 8 in. x 10 in. sheet film cameras.  Because the HDF-2/S incorporates an iris diaphragm for aperture and light-reduction control, it may be thought of as the ultimate classic macro camera lens, brought to the level of being a true instrument in its own right.  Unlike common macro camera lenses, its extraordinarily long back tube length facilitates dual-port mirror diverters, zoom (up to 18mm sensors) and the supplemental CentriTel™ Focuser.  Finally, it is easily used for outside assignments or in the field, directly mounted on a DSLR or 35mm SLR.
REVERSO is just one of InfiniVar CFM-2/S' functions.  If you have REVERSO, you also have the InfiniVar CFM-2/S to use in all of its other configurations.  CentriTel™ is a direct function of the REVERSO mode.  Although REVERSO can not be used with accessories such as mirror diverters or supplemental zoom modules, it is compact and very well suited to laboratory and industrial mounting needs.
